Request for copies of specific reports need to be made to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office Records Division Front Counter. We accept these requests Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. We require that you present a government issued picture ID (Driver's License) and fill out a Request Form with the detailed information you are seeking.
The minimum charge for a report is $2.00. You will be charged 50 cents per page after the first four pages. If you are the reported victim in the incident, the fee will be waived. In most cases, the report will be provided at the time of the request.
All records requests must be made in person, or be sent through the USPS mail to: MCSO, Attn: Open Records Request, 215 Rice Street, Grand Junction, CO 81501. Requests being made via fax, e-mail, or other electronic means will not be accepted due to the inability to accurately and proficiently document, track and disperse the request(s).
In addition, per Colorado Revised Statute 24-72-305.5 a Peculinary Gain Statement must be signed. That document is below if you want to fill it out in advance of coming to the Sheriff's Office in person, or if you want to mail it to us with a copy of your Driver's License.
